Robbery suspect still at large

The Columbus Police Department, along with the Colorado County Sheriff's Department and the Texas Rangers are still looking for a male suspect who allegedly robbed a Columbus bank Thursday, Jan. 10.
According to reports, a male suspect entered the Columbus branch of the First National Bank of Eagle Lake, 1001 Milam, around 2 p.m. Thursday with money in his hand and approached one of the cashiers. He then demanded money and the teller followed his instructions and gave him approximately $1,600, according to police.
It is unknown at this time whether the suspect was armed.
The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, approximately 5 feet and 5-8 inches tall with a slim build and about 125 pounds. He was wearing a dark baseball cap, dark sunglasses with purple tinted lenses, a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white tennis or running shoes with white soles. Investigators said the suspect appeared to be wearing a black wig that was very ragged and a fake mustache and beard. The beard appeared to be made out of felt, according to reports.
Columbus Police Chief Danny Jackson said it was also noticeable that the suspect had scattering freckles across his face and upper cheek.
Officers searched for the suspect for approximately two hours and were not able to find him. According to witnesses, the suspect exited the building and headed west said Chief Jackson.
