Both Abel and Hernandez live in Eagle Lake and are Master Masons in Eagle Lake Lodge #366. The Scottish Rite confirmation is the next step for a Master Mason and is equivalent to being a Shriner. A Master Mason can have confirmation through the 32nd degree in Masonry through the Scottish Rite Temple. Master Mason members from the local Colorado County lodges (Columbus, Eagle Lake and Weimer) who want to advance in Masonry have the opportunity to do their degree work at the Scottish Rite Temple in Houston.
