The Columbus Lions Club is hosting the 28th annual Rolling Hills Challenge bike ride on May 14. This is one of the club’s biggest fundraisers each year and all proceeds benefit local Columbus Charities. Riders can choose routes ranging from 25 to 100 miles and every registered rider gets a free Lions Burger at the finish.

Kenneth Benjamin plans to attend either Texas A&M or Texas Tech to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Molly Olivarez plans to play softball for Coastal Bend Junior College then transfer to Sam Houston State to pursue a nursing degree, and Heaven Jackson will attend Pima Medical Institute in Houston to become a dental hygienist. Read moreWHARTON – Wharton County Junior College will host a choir camp this summer for high school singers wanting to get an early start learning their TMEA All-State choir repertoire. Scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 6-8 in the Duson-Hansen Fine Arts Building on the Wharton campus, the camp is open to all 3A-4A high school students. Tuition is $50 and includes lunch and a T-shirt.

She is a sophomore this year and is a member of the Cosmetology program at RHS. Her favorite class and teacher is World History with Mr. Cantu. Outside of school, Jasmin spends her time working with her father after school. After high school, Jasmin plans to attend college and pursue her degree.
