Earth Day is an annual event on Apr. 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on Apr. 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries. The official theme for 2022 is Invest In Our Planet. Citizen
Read moreIt was a perfect Texas day. The waves on the lake rippled with the breeze. The leaves of the giant live oak trees swayed, reminiscent of Stephen F. Austin and his scouts’ first Texas night on the shores of Eagle Lake, in 1821. The historic boat barns along the water with their century old touches of rust were havens for decoys, fishing and hunting boats, and sundry artifacts left behind from years of hunting and fishing.
