Read moreThe hard work of three young men paid off Saturday, Aug. 21, when they were officially named Eagle Scouts at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church Dining Hall in Frelsburg. Zackary Spalek, Jarrett Pryor and Luke Graves were presented neckerchiefs and their Eagle Award at a court of honor and inducted into the highest rank of Boy Scouts of America. In addition to completing the required 21 merit badges, the aspiring Eagles must also lead a service project in their community prior to their 18th birthday.
Read moreThe Rev. Herbert C. Beyer, Jr. celebrated the 40th anniversary of his ordination in the Lutheran Church Sunday, Sept. 12 at Zion Lutheran Church in Moulton. Beyer had just presided that morning at services in West Point and Moulton, and was asked to come to the church office. When he walked into Luther Hall at Zion, he was greeted by family members and parishioners for an ordination celebration coordinated by the Administrative Assistant Mimi Richter. Beyer was speechless for a few moments, and after gathering himself, expressed his appreciation to those gathered and the churches he serves.
