Read moreNearly a dozen painters visited the Live Oak Art Center in Columbus Thursday, Sept. 10 to work challenge themselves with painting portraits outdoors. The painters arrived at the center at 8 a.m., and found locations of inspiration around town. “Painting outside is a unique challenge because light, shadows and sun are changing basically every couple of hours,” Amanda Danning, LOAC Board Director and fellow outdoor painter said. “We are hoping to have an outdoor painter’s society con text here in the spring. It’s advantageous to a town to have an event like this because it’s promoting visitors to our town and get more participation in our art shows .” Works of the outdoor painters are on display at the Live Oak Art Center.
