Night captures are a critical part of managing the wild population. The crew at the refuge says that replacing transmitters on adult birds and fitting transmitters on this year’s wild-reared chicks will allow them to monitor the wild flock and locate nests in the spring. The facility’s ACE (American Conservation Experience) interns are a critical part of these night captures.
