Kristie Noel Schulte Geisler was born Dec. 5, 1973 to Randy and Dulcie Schulte of Columbus. She was born and raised a Columbus Cardinal, where she was the cheerleaders’ mascot at a very young age. She was a twirler in junior high, and then went on to be a high school cheerleader and play volleyball and tennis. She was a member of the National Honor Society and was voted Columbus High School Football Sweetheart her senior year.
Read moreClarence Bratcher Jr., 85, of Columbus, left this earth Aug. 12. He was born Dec. 10, 1935 to Clarence and Bessie Mae (Hargrove) Bratcher, Sr. He graduated from Riverside School. After graduation, Clarence joined the United States Air Force to serve his country, and was honorably discharged July 5, 1962. Having served at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, SC, he decided to move back to Columbus. Clarence worked at the QP Grocery Store and at the Gifford Hill gravel pit before retiring from the workforce.

Clifton was born at home June 9, 1941, to Blanch and Condy “Dick” Hughes in Sweetwater. He was the youngest of four boys Bill, Wilburn, and Shirly. He attended his former school years in Sweetwater.
