HEMPSTEAD – The Lady Cardinals used two goals each from Brittany Vasquez and Jessica Elias, and the Columbus defense sparkled in a 4-0 season opening shutout of Hempstead Jan. 8.
WEIMAR – Wiemar’s Lady Wildcats took a nine-point lead into the final quarter and staved off a late rally by Shiner to take a 35-30 win in District 29-2A action on Friday.
COLUMBUS – When the Columbus girls’ soccer team takes the pitch this season the Lady Cardinals will have challenges to face this season.
The biggest new challenge the Columbus girls will face is replacing a star goalkeeper.
