Read moreAUSTIN –The Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) program is part of the CARES Act that provides an additional $600 to benefit payments, and based on TWC’s contract with the US Department of Labor, the last payable week for FPUC is the week ending July 25, 2020. The other parts of the CARES Act will be available until the week ending December 26, 2020. This includes Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) which allows self-employed to be eligible for unemployment up to 39 weeks and Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation program (PEUC) provides an additional 13 weeks of unemployment. Regular unemployment insurance does not have an expiration date and can provide up to 26 weeks of unemployment during your benefit year.

Read moreI’m sure many of you know the parable of the house built on the rock, a story told by Jesus comparing two homes; one with a strong foundation and one without. The first home was built on a rock, giving it a sturdy foundation that did not fail even through great winds and floods, but the other was built in the sand, allowing it to be washed away and destroyed at the first sight of rain. At a time like this, when wind and rain are constantly beating down on us everyday, it becomes apparent that some of us aren’t founded in sturdy ground, we’re struggling to hold ourselves together, and our walls are beginning to crumble. Our smiles fade, our faith wavers, our hope for a better tomorrow has disappeared and has given way for worry and despair to enter our hearts.
