49th annual Eagle Lake Rice Field Day set for June 27

EAGLE LAKE – The 49th annual Eagle Lake Rice Field Day is scheduled for 4 p.m. June 27 at the Eagle Lake Community Center, 100 N. Walnut Ave.

The field day will offer an opportunity for producers to hear updates from AgriLife Research scientists concerning insect management, weed management, plant nutrient management, disease management, varietal testing, and rice breeding, accoring to a release.

The evening program will feature Dr. Joe Outlasw of the Agricultural and Food Policy Center at Texas A&M providing a farm bill and ag policy update. The evening will conclude with a Texas Department of Agriculture Laws and Regulations and Worker Protection Standards presentation by Melissa Barton, Texas Department of Agriculture pesticide inspector.
