SAS SAINTLY NEWS

The SAS Academic Rodeo Team won 1st place in the Junior High Division at the Colorado County Fair last Thursday, Sept. 12. The team of Mitchell Smith, Joshua Newman, McKinley Wright and Abigail Wolters dominated the championship match with a final score of SAS38, Rice-17, and St. Michael- 5. The Academic Rodeo is sponsored by the Nada Lions Club.

Aside from the Academic Rodeo, many Saints took part in the Fair’s activities last week. While some students showed livestock, others volunteered at the Fair’s Exceptional Rodeo. Several SAS classes also submitted artwork for judging as well. SAS 1st and 2nd graders enjoyed Kids Day at the Fair on Sept. 12, exploring the Ag Tent and viewing the livestock exhibits.

The SAS Ignatius Book Fair begins this weekend after St. Anthony parish masses. The book fair theme is “Fostering Faith, One Chapter at a Time”. It is Christian based, offering something for all ages. The book fair will be open 9/23-9/26, 8-5:30pm, with a late closing on Sept. 25 at 7:30 p.m.
