On Tuesday, November 22 at noon via zoom, Tammy Scarbrough, Lead Educator/Interpreter and Volunteer Coordinator at the Charles and May Anne Goodnight Ranch Historic Site will discuss the Battle of Adobe Walls.
She will explain that how after years of hostile actions from Native Americans and broken treaties by the U.S. government, things came to a head in the Summer of 1874. The Second Battle of Adobe Walls took place near present day Stinett, TX.
The Comanche force of 700 warriors, led by Quanah Parker, faced off against a group of 28 buffalo hunters and was the catalyst for the Red River War.
