The Weimar Wildcats matched up with the Lousie Hornets and secured a dominant win by a score of 8-0.

The Wildcats played so well on both sides of the ball that they needed only three innings to pick up the win.

In the first inning the Wildcats opened the scoring with four runs to get the fans on their feet. They scored four more in the top of the third inning to make the score 8-0 which was the final score.

Huxton Kloesel was on the bump for the Wildcats. He faced nine batters and threw 11 pitches, all 11 pitches were called strikes, and he gave up zero runs on zero hits while striking out one batter for a perfect game.

In the first inning in the first at bat of the game Kloesel pulled double duty because while he was the starting pitcher, he was also the leadoff hitter. He found a pitch he liked and smacked the ball deep into the outfield. He used his speed to round the bases quickly and when he stopped running, he found himself on third base.

After Kloesel’s triple Collin Morrison was walked so now the Wildcats had two runners on and one in scoring position. The next batter up was Collin’s brother Camden Morrison who hit a sacrifice fly ball to bring Kloesel home.

Collin Morrison held up at first base, but he did not stay there long, because the next batter, Ty Rerich, stepped up to the plate and hit a home run. This was the first home run hit by a Wildcat all season long and it gave the dugout a well-deserved confidence boost.

The fourth run came after Nicholas Vasquez made it to first base because of an error and Brandon Luckey hit a single and there was another error in the field which allowed Vasquez to score.

In the top of the third the Wildcats scored four more runs but they did it with two outs on the board. The rally started with Luckey being hit by a pitch, then Ty Chmelik was walked, and Cullen Schimcek hit a single that drove Luckey home.

After Schimcek drove Luckey home, Trey Billeck stepped into the batter’s box and hit a double that brought Chmelik home. Then finally Kloesel hit a double to bring both Schimcek and Billeck home to extend the lead to 8-0.
