A Colorado County Habitat for Humanity homeowner has officially paid off her mortgage. Board President Shalor and Judge Peters recently signed the Release of Lien, marking this huge achievement.
Though she wishes to remain anonymous, she shared her heartfelt reflections on the journey.
“I absolutely loved being a Habitat homeowner. Everyone involved was super nice. For anyone thinking about applying for Habitat, you should do it. Me and my kids were overwhelmed with joy when we were chosen. We went from sharing a 2-bedroom, 1-bath apartment to a four-bedroom, two-bath home. I prayed every day, sometimes multiple times a day, and God answered my prayers.”
“I also enjoyed being able to help another family, whether it was cleaning or helping with lunches.”
Colorado County Habitat for Humanity thanked donors and volunteers. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It takes a special person to do what you do. You are ‘generous’ with your time, and you make sure others have what you have.”
This is what Habitat is all about, partnership, prayer, progress and the power of community.
