Greater Fayette Community Foundation announces 2025 grant cycle info sessions

The Greater Fayette Community Foundation (GFCF) is helping nonprofits prepare for its upcoming 2025 Community Impact Grant Cycle by hosting two informative webinars this May. With applications set to open June 1, these sessions are designed to equip rural nonprofits, grassroots groups, and fiscal sponsors with the tools and information they need to apply for funding across three focus areas: mental health, workforce development, and rural health equity.

The first Grant Cycle Info Session Webinar will take place on Wednesday, May 7, and will provide an overview of GFCF’s process and the three Community Impact Funds:

• Red Door Fund for Mental Health – focused on reducing stigma, increasing access to care, and supporting mental health services and providers.

• Green Door Fund for Workforce and Education – supporting pathways to prosperity through education, training, and career development.

• Rural Community Health Fund (RCHF) – investing in community-led efforts that address the social drivers of health and improve well-being in rural communities.

A second session, the Fiscal Sponsorship for Rural Communities Workshop, will be held on Tuesday, May 21, at 10 a.m. This session is intended for rural nonprofit leaders, grassroots organizers, and anyone interested in growing mission-driven work, as well as organizations that partner with smaller groups that are not 501(c)(3) entities, to help them access grant funding.

The webinar will provide clarity on eligibility, responsibilities, and how fiscal sponsors can support community-led efforts through the 2025 grant cycle by sharing practical tools to help participants navigate fiscal partnerships with confidence.

Participants will learn the difference between fiscal sponsorship and fiscal agency, legal and operational basics, success stories from rural South-Central Texas, how to assess organizational needs and engage the right partners, and why funders value fiscal intermediaries.

The Greater Fayette Community Foundation serves a 60-mile rural region surrounding La Grange, Texas. This includes all or parts of 19 counties: Fayette, Colorado, Lavaca, Lee, Bastrop, Gonzales, Washington, Caldwell, Austin, DeWitt, Burleson, Wharton, Fort Bend, Victoria, Jackson, Guadalupe, Hays, Waller, and Williamson. Eligible applicants must serve one or more of these counties to be considered for funding.
