Rice baseball end of season stat leaders

The Rice Raiders baseball season has come to an end and while they were on the outside looking in for the playoffs, but, there are still some things to highlight.

Since it is the end of the season let’s take a look at who led the Raiders statistically this season.

Starting on the mound, leading the way with 61 strikeouts was Keenan Hailey. Hailey was also the starting pitcher for the Raiders most games this season as he pitched 51.2 innings this season.

Second in strikeouts was Glenn Mills with 28 strikeouts, Mills often came into relieve Hailey and pitched the second most innings for the Raiders with 29.1 innings pitched. Noah Salazar had the third most strikeouts on the bump for the Raiders with 18 and he pitched 20.1 innings this season.

Switching to the offensive side of the ball, Hailey also led the team with a .465 batting average. Mills was second on the team with a batting average of .403 followed by Adolfo Martinez with a .368 batting average.

Hailey also led the team in base hits as he recorded 27 of them this season, following the theme, Mills was second on the team with 22 base hits. David Becerra was third on the Raiders for base hits as he recorded 18 of them this past season.

Mills led the team with eight doubles hit this season utilizing his speed to pick up extra bases. Second on the team was Martinez with six doubles hit this season followed by Hailey who hit four.

Triples are always fun to see, and the Raiders hit a few of their own this season. Leading the way was Hailey who hit two of them and Martinez and Noah Gonzales each hit one.

Hailey also led the team with 16 RBIs followed Jaren Brown who recorded 14 RBIs followed by Martinez who hit 12 RBIs this season.

It was an exciting year for the Raiders on the baseball diamond, and they are showing signs of major improvements which they will look to build on next season.
