Karlee Mathis played four years in Columbus for the Lady Cardinals, after her senior year she decided to take her talents to Concordia University.

She played basketball and softball for the Lady Cards but stuck to softball when she made it to Concordia.

In her first season at Concordia, Mathis made a great first impression as she was named to the All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference team as a freshman. Mathis played first base and pitcher for the Concordia Tornados this season.

She pitched 72 innings for the Tornados and had an ERA of 4.38 and struck out 29 batters during that time which was second on the team for the 2025 season. She helped lead the Tornados to eight wins in the circle this season.

It’s no secret to Columbus fans that Mathis is a very talented pitcher, she anchored the Lady Cards in the circle for many years. To see her continue her success as a pitcher at the college level in her first season is impressive.

As a hitter she had 13 at bats this season and recorded three hits for a .231 batting average. This helped her earn the trust of her coaches and teammates and earned her a spot on the All-SCAC team as a true freshman.

Mathis will be looking to come back even stronger for her sophomore season and earn a bigger role on the team.
