Members of the Houston Zoo spent the Attwater Prairie Chicken National Wildlife Refuge Education Retreat recently. Their incredible team joined at the refuge to reconnect with each other, refuge staff, and with the wild spaces that support the very species they champion through our captive breeding partnership and public education. After taking a tour through the prairie, they ended their day by helping refuge staff with a trail maintenance project, and with a mindful art project honoring the coastal prairie species that inspire them most.
