Contestants are being sought for the Colorado County Membership Queen, Fair Queen, & Junior Queen contests to be held at the Colorado Co. Fairgrounds Founder’s Hall on Saturday, Sept. 6, starting at 6:30 p.m.
Girls between the ages of 11 through 14, as of Sept. 1, are eligible to enter the Junior Queen Contest. Requirements include an entry fee of $50, paid by a parent or a sponsor; selling at least 25 Season Passes to the Fair, a recent headshot photo, and formal attire.
Girls between the ages of 15 thru 18, as of Sept. 1, are eligible to enter Colorado Co FAIR Membership Queen & Fair Queen contests. Requirements include entry form and fee of $75, paid by a sponsor (parent, business, school/civic group); Recent Headshot Photo, selling a minimum of 50 Season Passes to the FAIR, and contest dress is formal attire. Also, contestants are required to sell “Pre-sale” carnival passes to the fair, which counts toward the membership contestants’ total sales.
Additional requirements for all fair pageant contestants include must be single, never married, live in Colorado County, and be willing to represent the Fair Assoc. at Fair Events throughout the year, including riding the Fair Float at area parades. Parents may be asked to pull the Fair Float at area parades, too. Contestants will be required to participate in Private/Public Interviews that day with Out-of-County Judges. Deadline to enter Queen contests: July 11.
