Tink Jackson, city manager of the City of Eagle Lake, spoke at a recent meeting of the Eagle Lake Noon Lions Club. He highlighted several projects that are in planning or almost completed. The much-needed Traffic Light at US90A and 3013 was started on May 5, with an anticipated completion in 6 weeks. Another project that is almost complete is the “Downtown Lights” that draws attention to our city by outlining nearly all of the buildings in the downtown area. Right now, they are blue, but the colors can be changed for holidays or special occasions. An important Traffic project in the research and planning stages, partnering with TxDOT, is a new Traffic light in the downtown area. Completion is proposed in 2026. The Eagle Lake Community Center has been completely renovated and modernized with funding from the Wintermann Foundation. Most of the work is complete with cameras installed this week. It is now available for rental. Last week was Peace Officer Week, but every time you see one of our Police Officers in Eagle Lake, please thank them for their service. Their work is of the utmost importance. Courtesy photo
