AUSTIN — Jackson Beettner, of Columbus, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health from The University of Texas at Austin in spring 2025.
Beettner was one of nearly 9,500 students who received an undergraduate, master’s or doctoral degree.
UT Austin celebrated its 142nd graduating class during Commencement ceremonies on May 10. Taylor Sheridan, the creative force behind television blockbusters such as “Yellowstone” and “Landman,” was the featured Commencement speaker.
Columbus’ Pitchford named to Dean’s List at Jax State for Spring 2025
JACKSONVILLE, AL — Colton Wayne Pitchford of Columbus, has been named to the Dean’s List at Jacksonville State University for their outstanding academic performance over the Spring 2025 semester. To be named to the Dean’s List, students must earn a 3.5-3.99 GPA for the semester while completing at least 12 GPA hours of course credit.

Weimar’s Duty recognized during Central College Scholarship dinner
PELLA, IA — Cole Duty of Weimar received the Journey Scholarship Fund and Reformed Church in Plano Endowed Scholarship for the 2024-25 academic year from Central College for a high commitment to academic achievement. Duty is a member of the Class of 2028 at Central in Pella, Iowa.
