The Eagle Lake Fire Department put into service a new apparatus that was made possible by the Wintermann Foundation. Unit 1371 is a UTV designed to get to places the other apparatus cannot. Besides wildfires, it will be used for search and rescue and special events. the Wintermann Foundation graciously provided the unit, outfitted it, and also provided a trailer to pull it. On Saturday, 17 firemen took an 8-hour safety certification class through TEEX to learn to safely operate the unit prior to it being placed in service as taught by Roy Mercer. Courtesy photos
