The season is over, but there are still some All-District honors that the Columbus Cardinals baseball team is being recognized for.
It’s an honor to be named to the Academic All-District team for a number of reasons so to have one player selected for it is a big deal and Columbus had 13 selected.
The 13 players selected were Lane Kulhanek, Ryan Carter, Cade Neumann, Shane Kulhanek, Tyler Radke, Wyatt Tipton, Brody Tribe, Caswell Hill, Britton Wolters, Cole Tribe, Devin Opperman, Jayden Spaulding and Ty Wiggs.
Now we all know by now that the base requirement to make the Academic All-District team is to maintain a 3.5 GPA. Maintaining that GPA level is easier said than done because of the external factors that can affect these kids such as a job, practice, chores around the house or any other extra-curricular activities they are in outside of school.
Thes young men found a way to maintain the 3.5 GPA in the classroom to show that they are a valuable student. Then they’d turn around and show their value as an athlete on the field.
All of these players earned their spot on this team and will continue to push themselves as student- athletes.
