Columbus Elementary PTA to celebrate grand opening of new CES playground

The Columbus Chamber of Commerce is proud to partner with Columbus Elementary PTO to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the brand-new playground at Columbus Elementary. Join the PTA on Wednesday, June 25 at 4 p.m. at 1324 Bowie St., Columbus, to mark this exciting milestone for the Columbus community.

This new playground, located on Milam Street, was made possible by the generosity of numerous sponsors and supporters, including The Lions Club of Columbus, Columbus Rotary Club, San Bernard Electric Cooperative, H-E-B, Walmart, the Scott and Kelli Krec Family, Glueck Concrete Inc.–Joseph and Ashley Glueck Family, Cobank Sharing Success Program, The Monty and Fran Gillett Estate, The Trull Foundation, and the Columbus Elementary School PTO Board.

The project was led by Columbus Elementary PTO, a nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of students and staff. The playground is dedicated to Monty and Fran Gillett, two beloved members of the community whose legacy of kindness and generosity lives through this joyful, active space for local children.

The ribbon cutting is free and open to the public. Families, friends, and community members are invited to attend, explore the new play area, and celebrate a space built with love, purpose, and community support.
