The Weimar VFW Auxiliary to Post 5875 met for its regular meeting on June 10 with 11 members present. The meeting was opened according to the Ritual by President Charlene Muras.
There are currently 13 annual members and 24 life members for a total of 37 members.
Jeanette Koenig reported that Hill Bank, Prosperity Bank and Fayette Savings will receive a certificate of appreciation this month. Dolores Lauck reported there were eight veterans, five residents and three Auxiliary members present at the Men’s Coffee at Parkview on May 16. The next coffee is on June 20. The food pantry could use volunteers to help distribute food on June 26 at the VFW Hall. Linda Wick reported she sent 4 birthday cards this month.
The VA Clinic in La-Grange collects items for distribution to veterans all year long. Items needed include toiletries, t-shirts, caps, gloves, socks, sweatshirts, canned vegetables, canned meats, instant coffee, salt/pepper, Jello cups, fruit cups, but no candy please. Items or monetary donations may be taken to the clinic. Auxiliary Officers and Chairpersons for 20252026 will begin serving on July 1, 2025. New materials for these officers and chairpersons will be available after the state convention.
There will be a quarterly audit on July 8 at 5:15 p.m. prior to the meeting.
For the Good of the Order, Jeanette Koenig listed the following patriotic dates: June 14 Flag Day and US Army 250th birthday, June 15 Father’s Day, June 19 Juneteenth (Emancipation Day), June 27 National PTSD Awareness Day, and July 4 Independence Day.
The meeting was closed at 6:30 p.m. to reopen on July 8 at 6 p.m. following the quarterly audit at 5:15 p.m.
