Columbus student gets scholarships for achievements

Molly Garcia of Columbus was selected to receive the 2025 All-American Scholar Award sponsored by Catholic Life Insurance, one of the nation’s top ten largest fraternal life insurers. Each year, Catholic Life Insurance awards 35 scholarships worth $1,000 each to graduating high school seniors who have not only demonstrated outstanding leadership skills and academic achievements but have also gone above and beyond in their civic duties and made a difference in their communities.

Garcia, the daughter of Rhonda and Phillip Garcia, plans to attend Austin Community College. She submitted an impressive resume of extracurricular activities that include working with the Columbus High School Varsity Softball team, Future Farmers of America, and National Honor Society. She has volunteered in various activities and services for her Catholic Church and high school.

The scholarship is open to Catholic Life Insurance members who are also graduating high school seniors. Scholarship winners are selected based on their community service, demonstration of leadership qualities, and academic achievement.
