
Superior Plant at Ramsey will be shut down The Superior Oil Co. announced this week it will discontinue operations at its Ramsey plant before Aug. 31.
The company said it also would discontinue operations at its Lake Creek plant in Montgomery County.

Deadline today for candidates for aldermen As midnight today’s deadline filing for city aldermen drew near, there were only three candidates for the 2 places. Mrs. J.H. Ilse of the city clerk’s office reported.
The three candidates who have already been announced are Otto Schobel, E.H. Lawrence and Albert Hahn Jr.
Retail credit class scheduled here for June 26-30 A 10-hour course in retail credit procedures for merchants and employees will be conducted in the high school building here June 26-30, according to a report from Jack Draper.
The classes, which will be from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. for the five nights, will be taught by Sterling Speake of the University of Texas extension division.
