For the first time ever in the history of the school, the Columbus Lady Cardinals had a softball player named to the Texas High School Coaches Association Super Elite team. Mia Post was the Lady Card that was selected, and fans of the team knew that it did not matter if she was hitting, fielding or pitching, Post was going to bring her best every game. Post was one of the best players in the district but now she is being recognized as a truly elite level softball player across the entire state of Texas for Class 3A.
