Deadline approaches for hunter education certificate

If you hunt in Texas, you may be required to obtain an official hunter education certificate. Any person born after Sept. 1, 1971, requires this certification card to hunt in Texas.

Friends of the Weimar Public Library will offer a Hunter Safety Certification Class on Thursday, July 17th. To enroll you must register by accessing the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department website: https://tpwd.elementlms.com/ course/ hunter- education- classroom- course-11541/ Hunters aged 9 and up can obtain their hunter safety certification card after completion of the official online or classroom course through a certified instructor.

The course will be limited to 40 participants and will require a fee of $15 per person payable at the door by cash or check made out to Lee Mueller. The class will begin at 9:00 a.m. with sign in at 8:45 at the Weimar High School Cafetorium 506 W. Main, Weimar. Friends of the Weimar Public Library will furnish lunch for the attendees.

When registering participants will be required to set up an account with a PIN. It is very important to save the password designated, as it will be needed in order to print your certificate at the completion of the class.
