This year’s two recipients from the Cavender Auto Family have been awarded the 2025 San Antonio Auto Dealers Scholarship — each receiving $1,500 from SADA and a matching $1,500 from Cavender. Sophie Vadachkoria, daughter of David Vadachkoria (Toyota Sales), is a UTSA Honors College student majoring in Construction Science and Management. She’s been on the Presidential and Dean’s Lists and managed two major multifamily construction projects. Mercedes Laboy, daughter of Daniel Pena (IT), is headed to Columbia College Chicago to study Musical Theatre. A Cum Laude graduate, she’s earned national theatre honors and a Dean’s Scholarship and will train this summer with NYC’s Open Jar Institute. Courtesy photos
