Sheriff’s Report

SUNDAY, APR. 27

At approximately 9:00 a.m., deputy Thomas arrived in the 5100 block of Avenue J, Sheridan, in reference to a Public Nuisance Violation and Loose Livestock. A report was generated with a Public Nuisance Warning issued. This case will remain active pending a 30 day courtesy period.

At approximately 5:00 p.m., deputy Navarro was dispatched to meet Lavaca County Sheriff’s Office regarding a wanted person. Dispatch advised that subject Viktoria Andreeva was wanted for Failure to Appear and Tamper/Fabricate Physical Evidence.

At approximately 6:11 p.m., deputy Byars was dispatched to the 1400 block of Old Nada Road, Garwood, in reference to a disturbance. Upon making contact with the complainant, enough information was obtained to generate a report. Case cleared.

MONDAY, APR. 28

At approximately 7:59 a.m., deputy Leihardt while patrolling IH-10 EB lanes near Weimar observed a truck parked in the ditch between the main lanes and the South feeder. After further investigation, the vehicle was removed by Bob’s Towing and entered into TCIC/NCIC as stored and abandoned. Case closed.

At approximately 8:22 a.m., deputy Leihardt was dispatched to the 1000 block of Bull Creek Road in Fayetteville, in reference to a structure fire. After further investigation, information was received along with the fire being investigated by the State Fire Marshal Office, showing the cause of the fire to be undetermined. Case is cleared.

At approximately 12:31 p.m., deputy Pavlicek conducted a traffic stop in the 2400 block of Hwy 71 S, Columbus, Tx. After further investigation, Forrest Nance, age 34, of New Braunfels, Tx, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana - Class “B” Misdemeanor and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon - Class “A” Misdemeanor. Case cleared by adult arrest.

At approximately 1:46 p.m., deputy Leihardt while patrolling IN-10 EB lanes near Weimar observed an abandoned vehicle. After further investigation the vehicle was removed by Bob’s Towing and entered into TCIC/NCIC as stored and abandoned. Case closed.

THURSDAY, APR. 29

At approximately 3:00 p.m., deputy Wiese was notified via public service about an incident that occurred in the 300 block of Main Street, Garwood, Tx. After further investigation, a subject was later served a criminal trespass warning. Case is cleared.

At approximately 8:23 a.m., deputy Schoppe was dispatched to the intersection of CR 79 and Anderson Road, Eagle Lake, in reference to damaged property. After further investigation, information was received and a report was taken. Case is active.

At approximately 11:22 p.m., deputy Cantu was dispatched to the Texana Office in Columbus regarding a mental health transport. Patient was transported to Westpark Springs Mental Health Facility.

WEDNESDAY, APR. 30

At approximately 12:00 a.m., deputy Mican met with a complainant at the Sheriff’s Office in regards to a scam. The complainant said he had been scammed out of a large amount of money through a Crypto currency scam. Case is being investigated.

At approximately 1:41 p.m., deputy Blair was dispatched to the 3400 block of CR 106, Rock Island, in reference to a fire. After further investigation, it was determined the fire was started and extinguished by Rock Island VFD. case information only.

At approximately 9:17 p.m., deputy Navarro was dispatched to FM 2764/Highway 90A, Chesterville, in reference to a motor vehicle accident involving livestock. After further investigation, a crash investigation was conducted. Case is cleared.
