The Weimar Major All-Star softball team played in a recent tournament and posted a 1-2 record over three games.

Weimar took on Hempstead and then Sealy before taking on Hempstead once more to end the tournament.

Vs. Hempstead, W, 16-4 In their first game against Hempstead Weimar took home a 16-4 win but despite the score they did face a bit of adversity. Hempstead jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, and Weimar had to battle back.

They scored seven runs in the bottom of the second inning to take the lead back and they never looked back. Weimar went on to score five runs in the third and four runs in the fourth while giving up one run to Hempstead to pick up their first win of the tournament.

With one win under their belt, Weimar shifted their focus on game two and looked to pick up their second in as many games.

Vs. Sealy, L, 14-3

Game two saw Weimar’s offense struggle to get anything going, and Sealy took the game right to them. Sealy held a 8-0 lead over Weimar before the bottom of the second inning where Weimar scored their first two runs of the game.

Sealy scored four more runs in the third and two more in the fourth while Weimar scored once in the fourth inning for their first loss of the tournament.

Losing is never fun, but Weimar had one last game scheduled against Hempstead looking to beat them for the second time in as many games.

Vs. Hempstead, L, 7-1 In their final game Weimar’s offense once again struggled to find a rhythm and it cost them as they fell to Hempstead 7-1. Hempstead held a 4-0 lead until the sixth inning, where they extended their lead to 7-0 before Weimar scored their only run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

The loss ended Weimar’s season, but they learned a ton during these wins and losses this season and will be back better and stronger next season.
