Colorado County FFAs step up with donations for flood victims

Three Colorado County FFA chapters have already started projects aimed at helping families in the Hill Country region that has been devastated by flooding.

Columbus, Weimar and Rice Consolidated FFAs are hosting gift card drives that will be sent directly to affected families in the region.

Columbus FFA is collecting Walmart and HEB gift cards to send directly to affected families. Cards can be dropped off at Columbus High School front office through Wednesday, July 9 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Weimar FFA is collected gift cards from

• Visa/Mastercard

• Walmart

• HEB

• Lowe’s

• Home Depot All donations will be accepted through July 19.

Rice CISD FFA is collecting gift cards to assist families impacted by the flooding. Requested gift cards include:

• Visa/Mastercard

• Walmart

• HEB

• Lowe’s

• Home Depot

• Fast food locations Collection sites include J&W Farm & Ranch (Garwood), JW& Napa (Eagle Lake), Splashway (Sheridan), Dollar General (Garwood and Sheridan).
