Get into the Christmas Spirit early with Columbus Historical Preservation Trust
Trade in your sleigh bells for surfboards… Santa Claus is coming to Columbus.
The Columbus Historical Preservation Trust (CHPT) is excited to announce Santa’s Summer Vacation, a fun, family-friendly celebration bringing the magic of the holidays to the heart of summer.
The event will take place on Saturday, July 26, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hound Song Brewing Co., located at 535 Walnut St. in downtown Columbus. Admission is free and open to all ages.
Guests are encouraged to wear their most festive tropical attire and enter the Hawaiian Shirt Contest, with divisions for Adults, Children, and Infants. Winners will receive fun prizes, and attendees can purchase tickets to vote for their favorite looks. Proceeds from the contest will benefit the Santa Claus Museum in Columbus.
“We’re bringing a little holiday cheer to the dog days of summer,” said Julie Prause, CHPT interim president. “From cookies and crafts to brews and browsing, there’s something for everyone at Santa’s Summer Vacation.”
In addition to the Hawaiian Shirt contest, Santa’s Summer Vacation will feature: - Holiday cookie decorating and Christmas-themed coloring activities for kids - Local vendors selling unique gifts — a perfect way to get a jump start on holiday shopping - Delicious food and cold brews available for purchase from Hound Song Brewing - Special photo ops with the big guy himself Before heading to the party, families can also visit the Santa Claus Museum (602 Washington St.), which will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Guests are invited to explore the latest additions to the museum’s unique Santa collections.
Special thanks to Medical Skin Associates and the Columbus Chamber of Commerce for their generous support of Santa’s Summer Vacation.
