The Columbus Lady Cardinals and Cardinals opened their facilities up this week to host a volleyball and football camp.
The camp will be for 3rd-9th grades and gives kids a chance to learn directly from some of the coaches that help lead the Lady Cardinals and Cardinals.
Some of these kids look up to the Lady Cardinals and the Cardinals so to play on the same court and field as them is a big deal. Their fandom is evident too because during games they are captivated by the action and are first in line to embrace their favorite player with a hug post-game.
If they are related to the player or it simply just fandom, these kids adore the Lady Cardinals and the Cardinals. They all want to be like the varsity level Lady Cardinals and Cardinals one day, and these camps only help them achieve that goal.
The kids attending this camp will be put through some drills to help sharpen and hone their skills. There will also be some games that they can play during the camp to have a little bit of fun and put what they learned in the drills to work.
While it is beneficial for the kids, it is also a chance for coaches to come in after summer break and find their coaching voices again. On top of that, while it is a youth camp and the athletes attending learn a ton, the coaches are also learning as well.
Coaches are always looking to improve just like athletes so they are going to look for things that they can take from this camp that they can apply to their own team once school starts.
