Three local youth archers from Toxophilite Honoring Excellence Junior Olympic Archery Development Program (T. H. E JOAD Club), based at the Colorado County Fairgrounds just outside of Columbus, brought home multiple medals from the USA Archery JOAD Target Nationals and U.S. Open in Albuquerque, New Mexico, July 16-20.

The JOAD or Junior Olympic Archery Development is a nationwide program of USA Archery that provides young archers with coaching and competition experience.

The JOAD Target Nationals and the U.S. Open is one of the most prestigious and toughest youth archery competitions in the world. The archers faced stiff competition battling blazing temperatures and windy conditions.

Nathan Schoeneberg (U15 Barebow Men) delivered a standout performance as the new 2025 U15 Barebow Men National Champion with two gold medals (Ranking Round and Team Round), a bronze medal in the U.S. Open, and set two new national records.

Chloe Brandt (U18 Fixed Pins Compound Women) earned a silver medal in the Ranking Round against fierce competition from around the country, earning a top spot. Laura Schoeneberg (U13 Women Olympic Recurve) won silver in the Team Round, coordinating with her team, and helping them win a spot in the finals!

These impressive results are the latest in the long history of success for T.H.E. JOAD Club. The club has produced numerous state, national and world-level champion youth and adult archers, as well as providing a fun and welcoming space for families of all ages to safely practice the sport of archery.

Chloe Brant earned a silver medal in the ranking round of the archery competition.
