Dave Campbell’s Weimar Wildcats ranking set at 18

As we inch closer and closer to the start of football season, Dave Campbell’s Texas High School Football has released their preseason rankings for the 2025 season.

It ranked the top 25 schools in Class 2A in both division 1 and division 2, and the Weimar Wildcats found themselves ranked 18th.

The Wildcats posted a 7-5 overall record and a 5-1 record in district in 2024 to make the playoffs. They made it to the Area Round before they were eliminated by Mason by a score of 56-28.

Despite this loss Dave Campbell’s still sees the program trending in the right direction going into 2025. One player to watch this season will be Jerron Fisher who racked up 1,600 rushing yards and will be looking to repeat that performance this year.

On top of that the Wildcats named a new head coach Dylan Conway who was an inside hire. So, he’s well established with the team and may make some tweaks to the offensive and defensive scheme, but he is also expecting a big year out in Weimar.

The Wildcats are set to start their season on Friday, August 15, where they will take on Van Vleck in a scrimmage.
