Weimar Veterans win one, lose close game

Vets drop a close one The suspended game with Flatonia was played last Tuesday at Strickland Field. The Vets took the lead in the sixth, but a sixrun inning in the top of the eighth by Flatonia led to a final score of 7-4 and a defeat for the Vets. Offensive errors and lobs hurt their chances of a win. Pitching was excellent despite the final score. Huxton Kloesel- two scoreless innings, two strikeouts, zero earned runs (Had to go out due to an injury), Cody Barrett- six innings, six strikeouts, only two earned runs, Carson Peschel- zero runs, zero hits. Offensive leaders for the Vets were; Carson Peschel - run scored, base hit, Brady Henke - base hit, run scored, Kyle Peschel - Double, Cole Rasberrywalk, run scored. Defensive standouts for the Vets were; Ryan Rerich, Carson Peschel, Cole Rasberry and Kyle Peschel. Thanks as always to Tom and Claire for taking care of the field and Mike Koeth, Kyle Williamson for keeping score and Jakob Rehak for announcing.
