Rain or shine, community spirit shines bright at Back to School Bash sponsored by Bar G Services

LAVACA & TRI COUNTY — This past Saturday, July 26, the Back to School Bash & Mental Health Awareness event brought families, children, and community leaders together at the Hallettsville KC Hall for a day filled with purpose, fun, and support— all made possible by title sponsor Bar G Services.

While the Mental Health Awareness Walk did not take place due to weather, the day continued with prayer and a strong sense of unity. From start to finish, the event focused on encouraging mental wellness and preparing students for a successful school year.

Bar G Services, a local leader in home remodeling, roofing, drywall, painting, and demolition, stepped up in a big way to sponsor the event—demonstrating their deep commitment to both rebuilding homes and strengthening hearts across the region.

“Supporting this event was more than just sponsorship for us,” said J. Gordon of Bar G Services. “We’re committed to supporting families and promoting wellness in every way we can—on the job and in the community.”

More than 60 local children received free backpacks and fresh haircuts, thanks to the generosity and dedication of volunteers and partners who came together to make the day unforgettable. The celebration featured fun and meaningful activities for all ages—each one made possible by those who gave their time, talents, and resources:

• Hallettsville KC Hall provided a welcoming space that brought this community vision to life.

• Mr. Webb, former 13year NFL veteran with the Miami Dolphins, delivered an inspiring message that resonated deeply with both youth and adults.

• B&B Bounce House gave kids the chance to play, laugh, and let loose in a safe and joyful environment.

• Michael’s Mechanical Bull brought nonstop excitement and crowd-pleasing fun for attendees of all ages.

• DJ Big Baby kept the energy high with a steady stream of music, encouraging dancing, smiles, and celebration throughout the day.

• Walk This Way Productions made sure everyone looked their best with custom event shirts and captured memories that will last a lifetime.

• Kenneth & Stephanie Adams brought cool relief and sweet treats with snow cones and fresh popcorn, served with warmth and kindness.

• Krystal & Layla turned faces into works of art with their vibrant and creative face painting—adding color and cheer to the celebration.

“Watching the community show up for each other like this was powerful,” said Cory Deon, event founder. “Thanks to Bar G Services and every partner who made this day possible, we were able to make a meaningful impact.”

The Back to School Bash was a powerful reminder that when communities come together, real change happens. Organizers are already planning for next year’s event—and the momentum is just getting started.
