Weimar falls to Serbin The Weimar Vets hosted the Serbin Jackrabbits on Sunday. July 27, at Strickland Field. Two big innings in the 7th and 8th by Serbin and runners left on base led to a 13-4 defeat. The game was tied 4-4 through six innings. Offensive leader for the Vets were, Emerson Harvey- base on balls, a stolen base, hit by a pitch and scored a run; Kyle Peschelbase hit, two runs scored; Jeff Osburn- two base on balls, base hit; Cole Rasbury- RBI, base on balls; Conner Geisler- base hit, base on balls; Weston Pavlik- base hit, RBI; Carson Peschel- base on balls, run scored, stolen base.
Keeping the game tied and limiting Serbin to four runs were Coby Condel and Conner Geisler. Carson Peschel finished the 9th allowing no runs and three fly outs. Thanks for the great fan support. Vets win in comeback The Weimar Vets traveled to New Ulm on Sunday for the Semi-Final playoff game. A rough first inning led New Ulm to a 4-0 lead. The Vets tied the game int he third and took the lead 5-4 in the sixth. New Ulm took the lead back in the seventh 6-5. A big four-run 8th inning gave the Vets a 9-6 lead which resulted in a playoff win for the Vets. Conner Geisler allowed no runs in the second inning.
Cody Barrett threw the last seven with eight strikeouts, no walks, seven hits and stranded six runners on base. A masterful pitching performance to preserve the win. Offensive leaders- Cody Rasbury- base hit, double, two RBIs, run scored; Kyle Peschel-Double, RBI, two runs scored; Mark Revilla- base on balls, sacrifice fly, two RBIs, run scored; Weston “Mo” Pavliktriple, run scored; Emerson Harvey- base hit, base on balls two runs scored; Conner Geisler- two base on balls; Jeff Osburn- base on balls. Another super defensive effort by the Vets with no errors.
Standouts were Carson Peschel, Weston Pavlik, Cole Rasbury, Jeff Osburn, Ryan Rerich, Mark Revilla, Conner Geisler, Cody Barrett and in every game in every inning, Kyle Peschel behind the plate.
