WEIMAR WILDCATS

WEIMAR WILDCATS
RAUL SIERRA

Recently EA Sports released their new College Football game and recently the Citizen put out a story about it and its features.

For a reminder one of the features in the game was that the teams in Colorado County are accessible as playable teams as a feature in the new game.

While that is cool to see in its own right it goes a little bit deeper than just being able to play as the team. While players can wear the team colors of the Wildcats in the new College Football game they can also play with current players at Weimar High School.

“Play with” is a relative term, play with meaning like your created player plays one position and the players currently on the Wildcats team are computer-controlled players that are your teammates. Still exciting to see anyway. It was a pleasant surprise to line up as a quarterback for the Weimar Wildcats call an outside zone run and I handed the ball to a player wearing number two and his last name was Fisher. Now there is no way to confirm the first name of the player but given the number, last name and position that he was playing, it’s safe to guess that Jerron Fisher made it into the game.

The game also rotates running back much like the Wildcats in real life and even handed a few footballs off to Ty Chmelik and he ran behind Nico Vasquez and Cullen Schimcek who were working on the offensive line and even hit tight end Drew Montgomery for a touchdown.

So, if you need to scratch the football season itch before football season starts check out the new College Football game and play around as the Weimar Wildcats.
