The Weimar Vets traveled to Voekel-Koether Field in La Grange to face the Serbin Jackrabbits in the Championship Game. A tight game the first seven innings due to good pitching and defense by both teams. In the top of the eighth, eith on out Mark Revilla walked and went from first base to third base on a wild pitch.
Next up Kyle Peschel singled to center to score Revilla. In the bottom of the ninth, with the bases loaded, pitcher Matt Sandoval fielded a ground ball, threw it to catcher Kyle Peschel who fired the throw to first for a game ending double play. Final score 1-0 in favor of the Vets. Shane Connell pitched the first five innings and allowed no runs, another stellar pitching performance.
Offensive Leaders-Mark Revilla, base hit, base on balls, runscored; Ryan Rerich- base hit, base on balls; Brady Henke- base hit, two stolen bases. Defensive standouts- Mark Revillagunning down a runner at home, Carson Peschel with a diving catch to prevent a run, Shane Connell and Kyle Barish picked off runners at first, Cole Rasbury, Ryan Rerich, Mo Pavlik, Brady Kenke, Emerson Harvey and again a tremendous job behind the plate by Kyle Peschel.
