Lady Raiders take home 4th place while Raiders take 3rd

The Rice Lady Raiders and Raiders cross-country team traveled to Wallis to compete in the Brazos High School Cross-Country Invitational.

Both teams for Rice ran at this meet and both of them finished in the top five as a team with the Lady Raiders taking home 4th place and the Raiders grabbing 3rd place.

Lady Raiders

The first Lady Raiders to cross the finish line was Klair Hailey who finished with a time of 15 minutes and 12 seconds. Her efforts landed her 18th place, and she was the only top 20 finisher for the Lady Raiders.

The next Lady Raider to cross the finish line was Fallan Wied and she finished with a time of 15 minutes and 31 seconds to come in 23rd place. Close behind her was Taylor Eichelberger who finished with a time of 15 minutes and 49 seconds to come in 25th place.

Next was Lexia Rangel who came in 31st place with a time of 16 minutes and 10 seconds. She was followed by Priscilla Morales who came in 41st place with a time of 17 minutes and two seconds.

Ximena Gonzales was the next Lady Raider to cross the finish line, and she came in 45th place with a time of 17 minutes and 37 seconds. Then came Leanna Rangel in 51st place with a time of 18 minutes and 19 seconds.

The combined efforts of the team were good enough to land them 4th place out of all the teams attending. It helped set the stage for the boys to come in and claim their bronze medal.

Raiders

The first raider to cross the finish line was Jael Valles-Serrano and he came in 11th place with a time of 18 minutes and 43 seconds. Only six seconds behind him was teammate Hayes Dingler who came in 12th place with a time of 18 minutes and 49 seconds.

Not too far behind Dingler was Payton Englebrecht who came in 15th place with a time of 19 minutes and 31 seconds.

Joe Briones was next to cross the finish line for the Raiders, and he posted a time of 20 minutes and 16 seconds to come in 20th place. Next was jake Morales who posted a time of 20 minutes and 53 seconds to come in 27th place.

Victor Flores crossed the finish line with a time of 22 minutes and 30 seconds to come in 34th place. Luke Englebrecht was the next Raiders across with a time of 23 minutes and 49 seconds to come in 40th place before Peter Thompson finished with a time of 28 minutes and eight seconds.

It is still early in the season, but the Lady Raiders and Raiders will continue to work on bringing their times down and beating their own personal records.
