Gen-Z social media evangelist hosts Night of Worship

Generation Z social media evangelist Austin Huang hosted Night of Worship, a Christian gathering with a sermon and worship music from local youth, Friday, Sept. 5, on the lawn of the Colorado County Courthouse.

Huang, a non-denominational Christian based out of Austin, began his digital ministry in 2020 and has expanded to speaking worldwide. Night of Worship partnered with First Baptist Church of Columbus to run the twohour evening gathering. Senior Pastor Victor Morrison opened and closed with prayer, and singers from the church’s 412 Student Ministry and homeschooled youth musicians performed worship songs. Austin’s parents, Jessica and Tony Huang, assisted with volunteer recruitment, church coordination and public communication. According to Jessica, around 70 people attended.

“Austin…gave a message about God’s love and grace,” Jessica Huang wrote to the Citizen. “My favorite quote Austin shared was, ‘Repenting of our sins isn’t to condemn us. Instead, [God] has compassion on us. That’s why there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.’” Some worshippers drove in from Brenham, Spring, Houston, Austin, Weimar and Sheridan. Jessica wrote that she and Tony recently moved to Columbus and wanted to invest in their new hometown. The Huangs intend to repeat Night of Worship soon with the next one being planned for during football season.
