LA GRANGE – This October, cooperatives across the nation will celebrate National Co-op Month, highlighting the unique benefits of the cooperative model and the communities they serve. Locally, Fayette Electric Cooperative and Colorado Valley Communications are once again putting cooperative principles into action by partnering to host their annual Community Shred Day.
Now in its eighth year, the event will be held on Friday, Oct. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the KC Community Center, 190 South Brown Street, La Grange.
The event provides members with free, secure disposal of sensitive documents. Each member may bring up to two boxes of documents to be shredded at no cost. Additional boxes may be shredded with a $10 per box donation, with all proceeds benefiting the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter. CenTex Industries will provide professional, on-site shredding services.
