SUNDAY, JUNE 8
At approximately 1:48 a.m. deputy memorial was dispatched to 3295 FM 949, Cat Spring, in reference to a mental subject. The report was generated for information purposes only.
MONDAY, JUNE 9
At approximately 12:41 a.m. deputy Byars was dispatched to Interstate Highway 10 eastbound around the 689 mile marker in reference to a reckless driver and a gray Nissan frontier. After further investigation, Ryan Darrell Coogler, age 32, of New Caney, Tx, was arrested for driving while intoxicated - DWI. The case was cleared by arrest.
At approximately 4:26 p.m. deputy Leihardt arrived at the Colorado County sheriff’s office lobby to speak with an individual about a stolen license plate that was incurring toll charges. A report was generated for a stolen license plate and it was entered into TCIC/NCIC. The case is cleared by report.
TUESDAY, JUNE 10
At approximately 12:59 p.m. deputy Smith was dispatched to the Colorado County sheriff’s office regarding a wanted person. He arrived at the Colorado County Jail where the subject was currently in custody and issued the warrant. Case cleared by issuance of life.
At approximately 6:39 p.m. deputy Schoppe was dispatched to the 709 eastbound exit of Interstate Highway 10 in reference to an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was towed and a report was completed.
At approximately 3:39 p.m. while patrolling Sh 71 South near the County Road 101 South in the northbound lanes deputy Leihardt initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding over the speed limit. After further investigation Pierre Deleon Lee was placed into custody and transferred to Wharton County for warrants out of Wharton County Police department At approximately 7:27 p.m. deputy Blaha was dispatched to 695 westbound in reference to an abandoned vehicle and after further investigation the vehicle was towed by Delgado’s record service.
THURSDAY, JUNE 12 At approximately 804 a.m. deputy Blair was dispatched to make public service with a complainant and reference to a lost watch. Case pending further investigation.
At approximately 722 p.m. deputy Navarro was dispatched to the South theater on Interstate 10 frontage Road in reference to a single vehicle accident. A report was generated for information purposes only.
FRIDAY, JUNE 13
On Friday June 13th 2025, Captain Ally took a report in the lobby concerning a report of an abandoned dog. Investigation revealed that the dog wasn’t abandoned and Columbus Rescue Dogs agreed to assist and foster the dog. Case cleared.
At approximately 9:44 a.m. deputy Leihardt was dispatched to the 1000 block of Old MacDonald Lane in Columbus Texas in reference to a violation of a criminal trespass warning. After further investigation, Michael Alan Nichols, age 42 of Columbus, was arrested for Criminal Trespass of a habitation - class A misdemeanor.
SATURDAY, JUNE 14
At approximately 10:47 a.m. deputy Schoppe was dispatched to 3873 FM 949 in reference to a welfare check due to a juvenile being at a possible cock fighting event. A subject was arrested for cock fighting.
At approximately 4:16 p.m. deputy Leihardt was dispatched to splashway water park in Sheridan, Texas in reference to an individual in custody for public intoxication. Leonardo Ortega, age 26 of Angleton, Texas, was arrested for public intoxication and transferred to the Colorado County Jail without incident. Case closed by arrest.
SUNDAY, JUNE 15
An approximately 122 a.m. deputy Blaha conducted a traffic stop on Glen Flora Road, Eagle Lake, Texas. After further investigation, Gavin Gonzalez, age 17 of Eagle Lake, was arrested for unlawful carrying of weapon. Case cleared by arrest.
At approximately 10:22 a.m. deputy Schoope was dispatched to Highway 71 near FM 1890 in reference to a vehicle fire. A report was taken. Case cleared.
At approximately 809 a.m. deputy l was dispatched to the 1500 block of Sealy Road in reference to an animal call. Two chickens were found abandoned and we’re transported to Colorado Valley Veterinarian Services for evaluation.
At approximately 2:14 p.m. while patrolling in the 2200 block of State Highway 71 South and I’m marked patrol unit, deputy Leihardt initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration. After further investigation, Brittany Ann Bailey, age 30 of Muldoon, Texas, was arrested for an ounce standing felony warrant out of Fayette County. Case cleared by arrest.
At approximately 5:32 p.m. deputy Johnson was dispatched to 5300 US 90A Highway in reference to a criminal mischief call. After an investigation a report was taken.
At approximately 10:03 p.m. deputy Frey was traveling southbound on Highway 71 South just North of Highway 90A in Altair when he observed a small silver pickup truck with an out headlight traveling northbound on Highway 71 South. Upon further investigation, the driver of the vehicle was found to be under the influence of alcohol and in possession of a firearm. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Sean Torres, of Columbus, Texas. Sean was arrested for unlawful caring of a weapon and transported to Colorado County Jail without further incident.
MONDAY, JUNE 16
At approximately 309 p.m. deputy Blair was dispatched to the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office lobby in reference to a theft that occurred in Rock Island, Texas. Case active.
TUESDAY, JUNE 17
At approximately 12:03 a.m. Sergeant Melendez, deputy Chapa, and deputy Navarro were dispatched to 1084 County Road 151, Columbus, Texas, in reference to a disturbance. After further investigation, Bridgette Rodriguez, age 41, of Columbus, Texas, was arrested for a terroristic threat- misdemeanor A. Case cleared by adult arrest.
At approximately 12:58 p.m. deputy Lopez conducted a traffic stop on Highway 71 in Lyons Park drive, Garwood, Texas. After further investigation, Michelle Smith, age 32 of Garwood, Texas, was charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1>=1G and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3.
At approximately 7:33 p.m. deputy Byars was dispatched to the area of Interstate 10 westbound and County Road 253 in reference to property damage. Upon meeting with a complainant, enough information was obtained to generate a report. Case inactive.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 18 At approximately 7:29 a.m. deputy Leihart was dispatched to a public service in reference to dogs attacking and killing livestock. Information was received and the investigation is ongoing.
At approximately 9:45 a.m. deputy was dispatched to the Sheriff’s office regarding a telephone harassment complaint from a citizen residing at the 1000 block of Beard Road, Eagle Lake, Texas.
At approximately 4:50 p.m. deputy Blaha was dispatched to the 1100 block of County Road 307 in reference to a disturbance. After further investigation a report was taken for information only.
At approximately 6:06 p.m. deputy Smith was dispatched to a public service. After speaking with the complainant he then went to 1220 Bowie Street in Columbus, Texas, to talk with a complainant in person.
THURSDAY, JUNE 19 At approximately 1:02 a.m. deputy Blaha was dispatched to the 1100 block of County Road 307 in reference to an agency assist. After further investigation the report was taken.
At approximately 12:44 p.m. deputy Villarreal was dispatched to the Sheriff’s Office regarding a theft that occurred in the 2000 block of FM 949, Alleyton, Texas. The case is active.
At approximately 2:00 p.m. deputy Villarreal was dispatched to the Sheriff’s office for an information call. The complainant resides at the 2200 block of FM 109, Columbus, Texas.
At approximately 8:37 p.m. deputy Frey was dispatched to the 1000 block of Raider Drive, Altair, Texas, in reference to an assault causing bodily injury. Upon further investigation, a warrant was obtained for Miranda Kelly Lopez, age 34 of Eagle Lake, Texas, who was arrested on June 24th 2025 FRIDAY, JUNE 20
At approximately 12:08 p.m. deputy Lopez was contacted by Columbus Police department in reference to an elderly male experiencing signs of psychosis. The male was transported to the designated psychiatric facility for treatment. During the transport in which Colorado County EMS was the one who transported the elderly male, the paramedics received injuries from the male subject due to him being combative. Photographs of the injuries were taken. Both paramedics did not want to file charges on the mail subject.
At approximately 2:40 p.m. deputy Blair was dispatched to the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office to speak with a complainant in reference to a past assault that occurred. Case clear.
At approximately 4:33 p.m. deputy Blair was dispatched to make public service with a subject and reference to a possible stolen cell phone. Case inactive.
At approximately 703 p.m. deputy Chapa was dispatched to the 6000 block of south Interstate 10 Road, Cat Spring, in reference to an unwanted subject. Upon further investigation, Jose Joaquin Munis, age 43 of Cat Spring, Texas, was arrested for assault on a family member by impeding breath, a third degree felony. Case cleared by adult arrest.
At approximately 9:06 p.m. Sergeant Melendez and deputy Byars conducted a warrant service near Braden Lane and Joshua Lane. Upon further investigation, Hunter Joseph Holland, age 36, of Columbus Texas, was arrested for driving while intoxicated, class b misdemeanor, and evading arrest / detention with vehicle, third degree felony. Case cleared by arrest.
SATURDAY, JUNE 21
At approximately 3:50 p.m. deputy Blair was dispatched to make public service with a complainant in reference to a dog bite that occurred within Colorado County, Texas. Case pending rabies vaccination records.
SUNDAY, JUNE 22
At approximately 12:34 a.m. deputy Navarro was dispatched to Interstate 10 at FM 102 in reference to a tree on the road. A report was generated for information only.
At approximately 3:24 p.m. deputy Lopez was dispatched to the area of 1900 block of State Highway 71 East in reference to a welfare concern. The female was located and found to be in a mental health crisis. An emergency detention order was completed and she was transported to a facility for evaluation.
At approximately 10:24 p.m. deputy Chapa was flagged down at the 4000 block of Highway 90A, Altair, Texas for a possible assault that occurred. Upon arrival, enough information was gathered to generate a report.
MONDAY, JUNE 23
At approximately 148 a.m. officer Chapa was dispatched to the 600 block of Boulden Street, Garwood, in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, enough information was gathered to open up an investigation. Case active.
At approximately 6:49 p.m. deputy Schoppe was dispatched to 5429 US 90, Cat Spring, Texas in reference to a theft. A report was taken for theft.
At approximately 6:53 p.m. deputy Leihardt was dispatched to a public service in reference to a possible unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The vehicle was later found abandoned and the owner self recovered. Case closed.
At approximately 1:41 p.m. deputy Schoppe was dispatched to a public service in reference to a possible animal boarding issue. A welfare concern was conducted and a report was taken.
That approximately 4:35 p.m. deputy Lopez was dispatched to a mental health crisis. The mental subject was experiencing mental deterioration. The mental subject was then transported to a psychiatric facility for treatment.
TUESDAY, JUNE 24
At approximately 6:09 p.m. deputy Leihardt was dispatched to the TA truck stop in Sealy, Texas, in reference to a female and mental crisis. After further investigation, a female was transported to a mental health hospital for further treatment.
At approximately 7:31 a.m. deputy Schoppe was dispatched to 5607 East 1st Street, Sheridan, Texas, in reference to a vehicle theft. A report was completed.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 25 At approximately 2:22 a.m. deputy Blaha observed a vehicle speeding on Street near Walnut Street. He tried conducting a traffic stop on the vehicle but the vehicle failed to stop. The vehicle stopped in the 1200 block of Montezuma Street and the driver fled on foot. After further investigation a report was taken.
At approximately 8:44 a.m. deputy Blair was dispatched to Interstate 10 eastbound near mile marker 702 in reference to a motor assist that was stalled in the right lane of traffic. Case cleared by impound.
At approximately 11:43 a.m. deputy Lopez was dispatched for a public service in reference to a missing vehicle. This case is active pending investigation.
At approximately 11:44 a.m. deputy Lopez conducted a welfare check on a mental patient in Colorado County. It was determined that the patient was in need of immediate psychiatric care. The patient was transported to a psychiatric facility for treatment.
At approximately 5:18 p.m. deputy Lopez was dispatched to the Texana clinic in reference to a mental health transport. The patient was then transported to a psychiatric facility for treatment.
At approximately 6:06 p.m. deputy Byars was dispatched to assist the jail staff of the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office located at 2215 Walnut Street with a non-complaint inmate. Upon further investigation, information was collected to generate a report. Case cleared information only.
At approximately 6:35 p.m. deputy Chapa was dispatched to the 5600 block of South Interstate 10 Road in reference to a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, enough information was gathered to generate a report. Case active.
THURSDAY, JUNE 26 At approximately 12:30 a.m. deputy Byars conducted a traffic stop near State Highway 71 South and County Road 101 in reference to defective equipment. Upon further investigation, the driver, Jontel Demonique Caspers, age 35, of Bay City, Texas, was arrested for driving while license and valid, enhanced class b misdemeanor. Case cleared by arrest.
At approximately 8:52 a.m. deputy Lopez was dispatched to the Sheriff’s Office jail in reference to an inmate needing mental health screening. The inmate was evaluated by Texana and was deemed fit for jail.
At approximately 8:09 a.m. deputy Lopez was dispatched for a public service and reference to an assault. The suspect in the assault, Stacy Penalty, age 53, of Copperas Cove, TX, was issued a class c misdemeanor citation for the events. Case closed by issues of citation.
At approximately 12:49 p.m. deputy Navarro was dispatched to the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a wanted subject. After further investigation, Steven Arthur Black II, age 39, of Weimar, Texas, was taken into custody for a local felony warrant. Case cleared by adult arrest.
FRIDAY, JUNE 27
At approximately 6:05 a.m. deputy Leihardt observed a gray SUV abandoned near the Interstate 10 eastbound 696 exit. A gray 2017 Nissan Rogue was towed and the roadway cleared.
At approximately 10:23 a.m. deputy Schoppe was dispatched to 2395 FM 109, New Ulm, in reference to a suspicious person. On arrival it was determined that the subject was intoxicated, resulting in the arrest of Javier Herrera Flores, age 49, of New Ulm, Texas, for public intoxication. The case is cleared by arrest.
At approximately 12:41 p.m. deputy Leihardt was dispatched to the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office lobby in reference to an online scam. A subject was scammed out of $19,900 when trying to buy a Kubota skid steer online. Case closed my information report.
At approximately 3:30 p.m. deputy was dispatched to Interstate 10 westbound near the 702 mile marker in reference to a traffic hazard. A report was taken and a trailer was removed from the roadway.
At approximately 6:00 p.m. deputy Smith was dispatched to The 4400 block of Highway 90 in Alleyton regarding a terroristic threat. After speaking with the reporting party, no imminent threat was established upon further investigation, this report is information only.
At approximately 10:37 p.m. deputy Villarreal of the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office was doing routine traffic patrol in the area of Highway 90A in Eagle Lake when he observed a white Kia bearing Texas plate number TSH2344, swerving in his lane. He activated his overhead emergency lights when the vehicle came to a stop at Highway 98 and Candy Lane.
SATURDAY, JUNE 28
At approximately 12:04 a.m. deputy Johnson was dispatched to the interstate 10 westbound mile marker 695 in reference to reports of a possible intoxicated driver. A traffic stop was conducted. After an investigation, the driver, Matthew Sica, age 39, of Pensacola, Florida, was arrested for DWI. Case cleared by adult arrest.
At approximately 2:24 a.m. deputy Frey was dispatched to Lakeside drive in Eagle Lake Texas in reference to a disturbance. Upon further investigation, Siblena Cochran, age 43, of Eagle lake, Texas, was arrested for terroristic threat of family household.
At approximately 2:42 p.m. deputy Cantu was dispatched to FM 2614 and Strickland Lane, Eagle lake, regarding a vehicle fire. No signs of foul play. Information only.
SUNDAY, JUNE 29
At approximately 6:57 p.m. deputy free was dispatched to the 1200 block of Old Highway 90, Columbus, in reference to a disturbance. Upon further investigation a juvenile male was becoming increasingly aggressive towards his mother and younger sister. The male juvenile was detained for his safety as well as his family safety. The father was contacted and made a location to take custody of the male juvenile. The male juvenile was released to the father without further incident. Information only, case closed by report.
And approximately 6:14 p.m. deputy Johnson was dispatched to the 1400 block of US 90A in reference to a terroristic threat call. After an investigation a report was taken. Case pending further investigation.
MONDAY, JUNE 30
At approximately 10:18 a.m. deputy Lopez was advised of a motor vehicle accident located in the 1000 block South Texas avenue. TXDPS troopers were advised and conducted the accident investigation. A report was generated by the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office for information purposes only.
At approximately 11:20 a.m. Martha Blair came to the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office and reported that her children’s father was refusing to return the children to her. Once the child custody order was read it was determined that the father’s summer possession is July 1st through the 31st at 6:00 p.m. Case documented and closed for information only.
At approximately 8:35 p.m. deputy Byars was dispatched to The 4400 block of US Highway 90 in reference to a theft. Upon speaking with the complainant, enough information was gathered on scene to generate a case report. Case inactive.
