Rice High School welcomed the elected Underclassmen Court and Homecoming King before electing the Homecoming Queen at the home football game, Thursday, Sept. 11.

For the second time, underclassmen voted on representatives for the Underclassmen court. The freshman class of 2029 elected Ta’Rell Tarver as Lord and Laila Lugo as Lady. The sophomore class of 2028 elected Bryan Guerrero as Duke and Leanna Rangel as Duchess. The junior class of 2027 elected Jacob Morales as Prince and Lexia Rangel as Princess.

The Rice football team selected senior Giselle Hiron to be their Football Sweetheart.

The student body elected Jael Valles Serrano as Homecoming King during the pep rally before the game. Valles Serrano has been actively involved as an athlete and student council. He plans to pursue his dream of becoming a professional soccer player in college after graduation.

Rice High School seniors nominated five Homecoming Queen candidates: Catalina Cariman, Aleah Conejo, Arely Martinez, Karol Rodriguez and Brenna Villarreal. The student body elected Cariman to be their Homecoming Queen. Cariman has been continuously engaged as an athletic trainer and in the art and culinary programs. She plans to pursue a degree in physical therapy at Wharton County Junior College and the University of Houston after graduation.

Editor's Note: A previous version of this story incorrectly listed the court as the 50th.
