The Columbus Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire Sunday at the eastbound rest stop between Hatterman Lane and FM 2434. The first arriving chief officer attempted to knock down the fire with a fire extinguisher. Fire crews arrived shortly after and quickly brought the fire under control.
