Bob and Nancy Stiles have been married and lived in Columbus for 35 years. The home they live in has two historical markers. The home was a Railroad Hospital that burned in 1876. It served as a hospital in 1892. Bob worked for Texaco and Nancy was Principal at Katy Elementary. Nancy has 49½ years in education. Bob and Nancy support Columbus ISD sports and attend both home and away games.

The Stiles home was on the Magnolia Tour for three years and they showed their home and promoted it. The home was a Bed & Breakfast for many years and still have one in LaGrange called the Lodge on Lake Siesta.

Nancy has written three plays that were performed at the Opera House. She is planning another for when the remodeling is finished. Nancy also served two years as president of the Chamber of Commerce and was Woman of the Year about ten years ago.

Bob plays the guitar for church and volunteers with The Smiling Singers at nursing homes.

Bob and Nancy feel that flying the American Flag shows pride in our country. They also fly the Texas Flag and the Cardinals football flag.

This is a very special year as The United States of America celebrates 250 years. In October of 1775 (250 years ago) the Battle of Yorktown took place.
